How To Find An Affordable Roofing Company
When you call us to set an appointment we will schedule a time to come and give you a FREE roofing inspection and we will give you an honest assessment of the condition of your roof. And if you don't need any replacement or repairs we will tell you that too. Often your roof can be fixed with a simple "Roofing Doc Roof Tune Up" where we will simply take a look at the roof and if it can be easily fixed we will take care of it on the spot. Our Roof tune up's start at only $99 and go up from there depending on what your roof needs. And if you don't need anything done at all we are happy to tell you that because if nothing else we hope that we earn your business in the future when you do need a roofing contractor for a future project. Don't neglect your roof, it protects your investment in your home, call us and we will be happy to help!
The Cost Of Replacing Your Roof
The cost of replacing a roof can vary pretty widely depending on several factors such as: How big is the roof? What is the pitch of the roof? What kind of shingles do you want, or what does your homeowners association require? Does the wood sheeting under the shingles need repaired or replaced?
As you can imagine, there are many factors that go into estimating the cost of a roof replacement, but thanks to our mobile estimating software, we can give you a FREE roof inspection and a professional roof replacement estimate in a matter of minutes. If you think you need your roof replaced we can make the entire process very simple for you, just give us a call or send us an email to get the ball rolling. We will set a time to inspect the roof, measure it, and provide you with an estimate that is clear and easy to understand. We won't pressure you to try to get you to close, we believe in earning your business and doing the job right! We do know that we typically come in on our pricing slightly under that of our competition, and the reason we can do that is because we run our own roofing crew. Most companies just sell the job and then sub-contract the work to the cheapest company they can find. We don't do that. We have quality control on the job every day to insure that your roof is done right, and it also helps us keep our costs down so that the price is right too!
The Cost Of Repairing Your Roof
Much like trying to estimate the cost of a new roof, roofing repairs can vary widely as well as there are many factors to consider. For example... Is there wind or hail damage that might be covered by insurance? If so you might get an entirely new roof for just the cost of the deductible on your insurance. Are the needed repairs extensive, or are there just a few things that need a little attention from a professional roofing company? Our repairs start at only $99, and if nothing is needed we will tell you that too. Many companies these days act like they have to try to make a killing on every job, we just want to be fair and honest because we know that the business will come back to us when it is needed.
Handling Roofing Insurance Claims From Hail Or Wind Damage
At RoofingDoc.com / Bartlett Homes we have made it a specialty to deal with roofs that are damaged by wind and hail and helping our customers get everything that they can covered by their insurance company. When you set an appointment with us we will come and do a FREE roof inspection and assess the damage to give you an idea if your home will likely be covered by an insurance claim. Insurance company adjusters look for specific things when it comes to hail and wind damage, and we know what to look for so that you will have a good idea about whether or not you should file a claim when we have completed the roof inspection. Once we have made that assessment we will guide you step by step through the insurance claim process if it is needed. Typically when it comes to hail damage insurance companies look for 7-10 hail bruises in a 100 square foot area. That area will be a randomly selected (typically 10'x10' area, but it can be other shapes like 5'x20') on one face for each side of the home and the assessor will mark the hail damage with some chalk. If the number of bruises that they feel are substantial meets their company minimum guidelines then they will replace that section of roof, and typically if more than 60% of the roof is affected they will replace the entire roof.
What is a "bruise"? Normally insurance companies are looking for hail strikes that are in the middle of the shingle and not on the edges that impacted hard enough to make the shingle soft in that area which indicates that the fiberglass bedding is broken or torn and will ultimately allow water to seep through the shingle. When this happens you will also see an impact area where the granules are missing and possibly even where the tar has been blown off of that area as well just leaving the white fiberglass bedding showing (though frequently the tar will still be there, so just because the fiberglass is not showing it does not mean you do not have hail bruises on your roof).
As for wind damage, insurance companies vary, but they look for a few different things when it comes to wind damage. Wind curled shingles that have cracking on the top edge are obvious signs, but there are other things that are not so obvious like when there is a wind shearing effect that lifts entire sections of roof and sets them back down but tears out the nails holding the roofing in place. This can be tricky to spot and you have to know what to look for, so if you think you may have wind damage, give us a call so we can come help you detect and figure out what is going on!
How To Properly Inspect Your Roof
The best and easiest way to inspect your roof is to just take us up on our offer to do a FREE roof inspection. We will get up on the roof and take pictures of what we see so that when we come down we can show you exactly what we looked at when we were on the roof. If you want to do your own inspection here are some things to look for. Wind damage, hail damage, missing granules, torn shingles, missing shingles, lifted roofing, cracked roofing, nails and staples that are sticking up out of the roofing, curled shingles, exposed underlayment or tar paper, slipping shingles or slipping sections of roofing, shingles that are no longer adhered to the shingles below them, exposed fiberglass bedding, broken vents, cracked vents, rusted flashing or valley metal, soft areas of roofing that may indicate rotted plywood underneath, you can even look for light showing through in the attic or wet or moldy areas in your attic. All of these things are trouble signs and are what we look for every time we get on a roof.
